"Master Chef, Gian Paolo Belloni Brings Culinary Legend by Generations" at Zeffirino Ristorante of Regal Hongkong Hotel |

Zeffirino Ristorante of Regal Hongkong Hotel has invited its Master Chef, Gian Paolo Belloni from Italy for an exclusive week of "Culinary Legend by Generations" promotion. The promotion will be kicked off on 12 November and Chef Belloni will be demonstrating his masterpiece till 18 November. His disciple, the resident Executive Italian Chef, Tamara Mattii, will continue this promotional menu till 30 November 2012.
Master Chef Gian Paolo Belloni is the third chef generation of Zeffirino Ristorante. With the inspiration from his father, whose name is also Zeffirino, Chef Belloni started working in the kitchen when he was young. He found himself blessed with the gift of creating culinary ecstasy. He believed that he has an important mission, which is to bring the traditional Italian cuisine popular to the world. Under Chef Belloni's leadership, Zeffirino Ristorante has won numerous culinary honours including the Auguste Escoffier Certificate awarded in Cannes, France in 1987, "The European Golden Medal" in commemoration of Zeffirino's 50 years of operation in 1990, "The Certificate of the Accademia Italiana della cuicina" and "The Grand Cordon'Or".
Chef Belloni's cooking style is simple but magnificently matching with the perfect cooking time and the freshest ingredients. His name is not only confined to the national territory but also reaches Germany, Switzerland, Australia, USA and Asia countries. The flame of Zeffirino's culinary art blazed over Asia with the opening of the Zeffirino Ristorante at the Regal Hongkong Hotel in 2001. His food has also dazzled international celebrities including Pope John Paul II, Luciano Pavarotti, Roger Moore, Frank Sinatra, Sophia Loren and Celine Dion. Pope John Paul II even honours Chef Gian Paolo Belloni as "the Chef of the Pope and the Pope of the chefs" and "The Pope's Pesto Maker". His home-made pesto sauce is a unique mystery recipe which has also brought Liguria becoming the world renowned "pesto land".
At Zeffirino Hong Kong, a series of delicacies created by Chef Belloni themed "Savour of Autumn" will be presented in the form of a la carte, 5-course set dinner and semi-buffet lunch with main-course options. In this menu, he follows the natural of the season and tactfully uses the products in Autumn like mushroom, truffles and chestnuts. Chef Belloni will further reveal the secret of using Extra Virgin Olive Oil "DOP" which is the key to relive the soul of every single dish. The a la carte menu featuring around 20 delicacies is set according to appetizer, soup, first course, main-course and dessert. The 5-course set dinner is a collection of the finest delicacies. It includes two appetizers of "Tarter of Prawns, Tuna and Grouper" and "Grouper Gnocchetti'', first main-course "Chef's Seafood Soup with Fish, Crab and Oyster", refreshing with the "Ginger Sherbet", and then follow by the second main-course "Slices of Duck Breast with Orange Sauce" and perfect with "Chef's Belloni Special Dessert Platter". Mellow taste is always the best companion to exquisite food. The Hotel's Sommelier has paired the menu with fine wines from Italy at the price of $1,288 (without wine at $988). For the Semi-lunch Buffet and Sunday Brunch Buffet, guests can enjoy Italian antipasti and dessert buffet and pick a main-course from Chef Belloni's menu. Lunch with buffet at $368; brunch with buffet at $458 for adult and $298 for child.
