Victoria Park was opened in October 1957 and was named after the statue of Queen Victoria. The Park has been refurbished from 2000 to 2002. With an area of over 19 hectares, Victoria Park is the largest park on Hong Kong Island. There are a large number of sports facilities inside the park, including 2 lawn bowl green, 14 tennis courts, swimming pool complex, 600-meter trail, soccer pitches, basketball courts and children playgrounds.
There are many events which take place at Victoria Park on yearly basis, including Lunar New Year fair, Hong Kong flower show, Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival and Hong Kong Brands & Products Expo.
