After years of evolution and development, many original flavours and classic dishes have faded in the ever-changing diversity of Chinese cuisine. Shunde in Foshan, however, reputed as one of the cradles of Cantonese cuisine, is still holding their cooking traditions dearly and has bestowed with an old saying ‘Eating in Guangzhou, cooking out of Fengcheng’ for ages. Fengcheng, in fact, another name for Shunde, is appointed as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy.
Devoted to inheriting and promoting Chinese food culture, Regal Hotels invites accoladed executive chef Che Ming Zhi of Ju Fu Shan Zhuang, a renowned restaurant in Shunde, and professor of catering institute Mai Zhen Xing, who has represented Shunde to promote Cantonese cuisine overseas multiple times, to collaborate with the hotel’s culinary team and showcase a series of authentic Shunde taste to diners. Using the most exquisite culinary techniques and traditional cooking methods, the characteristics of “Light, Fresh, Crispy, Tender, Smooth and Genuine” in Shunde cuisine are fully demonstrated.
